These are seldom found 1800s to early 1900s railroad Engineer Protective Glasses in original tin case. The blue tinted lenses are in excellent condition with side metal mesh. These were used to protect railroad engineer eyes from soot and burning cinders of steam coal driven engine. History preserves most of these treasures were made by “Hudson & Son, Opticians, Greenwich”. They are described and shown in the book “Spectacles, Lorgnettes and Monocles” by Dr. Davidson. These 100+ years old railroad engineer Glasses are in very good condition. They belong with a serious collector or in a museum.
