This is a 1942 Movie Advertising Glass Slide advertising a new movie called “Heart of the Rio Grande” starring Gene Autry, Smiley Burnette, Fay Mckenzie, Edith Fellows, Pierre Watkin, Joe Strauch Jr. . It was directed by William Morgan. Gene Autry was a Hollywood leading man for many years. Smiley Burnette was always his sidekick in most movies and songs. This was an early movie with sound, starring established actors of the period. These old glass slides were made in black and white and hand accented with color. During intermission they were displayed to advertise the next movie. Size is 4 x 3 inch and hand printed when it was coming to theater. These old movie slides are seldom found with actors of this class and this one is truly a piece of movie history. Collectors of movie memorabilia will find this a highlight to their collection.
