These are Civil War Sharp Shooting Glasses used by the best shooter and best rifle in the 1860s. Originally designed to correct floating myopic eyes, they became popular for shooting. They are in good condition with brass frame and ear loops. They are very unique as they have brass studs to hold frame with glass lenses (most have complete full lens frames in nickel plating (See bottom photo of more common full frame). The glasses have special tiny amber lenses with frosting on outside to focus on shooting the large Caliber Bullet about to be sent and blasted into opponent. Note – Civil War was only fought during the day and often day brightness required sunglasses or these amber glasses with special focus. These seldom found sharp shooter glasses have been very well preserved for 150 years. Only a rare few of these Civil war Sharp Shooter Glasses can be found in museums and photos in a few old books.
