This is a rare WW-II Nazi German submarine combat badge created on October 13, 1939. The badge is made of solid brass with incredible detail to submarine, swastika, eagle and circular leafs It was worn on the left side of the tunic or shirt. This badge was awarded to crewmen who had carried out at least two combat missions. On back is makers mark of “GWL” in a circle. This was a prized possession of the German submariner and only 2 out of 10 lived to tell about the war. The others took their prized possession to the bottom of the sea. Size is 2” x 2”. This is a rare treasure and a must for collectors of WW-II memorabilia.
