This rarely found Top Hat is truly a treasure as it also comes in original leather velvet lined case with secret compartments front & back. Inside hat it is labeled February 16th 1904 and was no doubt custom made for new owner. Size is 6” or 20” in inside diameter. It was custom made in Belfast by the famous maker “Hatter A.P. Dalzel of 15 Royal Avenue, Belfast” with embossed Gold initials of D. L. There is a 6” crown with 2” brim and matching bow tied ribbon around the crown. Hat is in very good condition preserved in the original leather case. This incredible Top Hat was worn by the very wealthy of the period and most often a distinguished professional like a Doctor or Lawyer. Note – No keys for case and the strap that slides from back to front and into lock is missing, but overall condition of case is very good. These old Top Hats are rare and seldom found with original carrying case. It will be the highlight of any old hat memorabilia collection.
