This rare treasure is dual ear, auricles trumpets that have an adjustable headband for both ear trumpet inserts that date to early 1900s. Ear Trumpets a beautiful burgundy faux Tortoiseshell color made of celluloid by famous premier maker Harrys of France and stamped “Harrys of Paris; Depose”. These were called the Auricies model ear trumpet of the period and made of intricately colored celluloid in faux Tortoiseshell design. These appear to have never have been used and in pristine condition with metal accents to adjust headband. Celluloid was invented in 1856 that allowed color dyes and in later year’s combination dyes that provided faux tortoiseshell like instruments were prevalent to the early 1900s. On each side of ear inserts are large baffles to collect and amplify sound. The baffle size is 2.5” x 1.”. Length is 3.5” x 2.5” It is a beautiful complete set from 100+ years ago that will highlight any collection.
