This very rare treasure is a complete 1948 set of Hermann Rorschach's "Psychodiagnostics- Plates", otherwise known as the Rorschach Inkblot Test. Included is the very rare and seldom found 4 page “Method of Personality Diagnosis” analysis chart for Scoring Patient.”. The original 10 Inkblots are treasures, but with the original analysis booklets that the Doctor would use for analysis are incredibly rare and the first we’ve found. This is the original 1948 complete set of ten, black / white and color cards (approx. 6.5 x 9.5 inches) on heavy cardboard stock, including the cardboard box. The set is used and in excellent condition with only slight aging tint. Each card is numbered on the back (Roman numerals I - X), Published by Hans Huber: Bern, Switzerland, Copyright 1921 (renewed 1948), distributed in the USA by Grune & Stratton, New York, N.Y. This original set of 10 Inkblots remain controversial as some Psychologists call them quack and others say they tell many secrets about an individual. Box is a little rough but has preserved these very rare treasures. A brief history on these treasures: Herman Rorschach (pronounced “raw-shock”) 1884 to 1922 designed this set of ten, 10, inkblots for Psychological analysis using his special instruction sheet. Results would identify a normal individual or problematic person. The Psychologist would sit to the left and a little behind and hand each card in order of 1 to 10 to patient and simply ask, “What Do You See?”. Everything patient says or does is then recorded. The patient might ask “Can I turn the cards to view?”. The psychologist won't say the cards might be easier to interpret when turned. However, those folks that do turn the cards will get a notation with a little arrowhead every time you do turn a card that says you have initiative. Those that do not turn cards lose a point……. One of the favorite inkblots is # 1 that appears to be a fox or some say a jack-o-lantern (perhaps a disturbed individual might see “Two Wild Donkeys attacking a bug”. Again, these rare Rorschach Inkblot cards in box also come with the very rare and seldom found Doctor Patient analysis booklets. Both Inkblot cards in original case and book are in very good condition. These original Rorschach Inkblot cards are very rare and seldom-found treasure that will highlight any collection of antique Psychologist instruments.
