This is called the Richardson’s Battery Pendent that when worn around the neck would cure any disease. This rarely found Richardson’s Battery is stamped “Patented USA Feb. 3, 1880 and Canada Feb 9, 1881” on one side and the other “Richardson’s Magneto Galvanic Battery”. A more common pendent was called the Boyd’s Battery. The Richardson’s Battery Pendent is seldom found and was a competitor for Boyd in this era of amazing cure all quack medicine advertising that their magnetic devices could cure nearly anything. Size is 1.5” diameter. Professional collectors know of the Boyd Battery and this seldom found Richardson’s Battery pendent.
