This is a beautiful late1800s to early 1900s ear trumpet made of Bakelite ear piece and bell with woven extension all in good condition and fully operational. The bell has a small chip on the lip, and a 2.5 inch fracture, crack on the horn - does not distract from appearance as a display or working model. These were also called Speaking Tubes or Conversation Tubes. It is 46” in length. Bell is 2.5” across in diameter. The book “Scientific Collectibles” by C. Payton pictures and describes a very similar one of these treasures that date from 1850s to early 1900s. It was the high technical answer to hearing problems of the era. This is in museum quality display and will highlight any collection of old ear trumpets.
