This rare treasure is a Core Magnetic Memory Card from Litton and used by space programs of the 1960s and 1970s for their inertial navigation systems and called LTN-51. Inside are six, 6, layers of core in two, 2, sections each. On opposite side are supporting electronics and sides having the old PNP transistors. This was made in a special manufacturing process for the space programs so the core memory would not be affected by orbital radiation. Inside core memory is surrounded by .25” steel plates and visible supporting electronics have a Lucite substance to protect from any moisture or other hazard. Note the old PNP transistors on each side and wire wraps at bottom. It is stamped “ASSY 2-00059-301-001, IGC SER 0307”. Size is 7.5 x 4.5 x 1.25 inches and weighs 3 lbs.
