1905 Omega Calculator Adder Antique

Price $

2500

This is a 1905 Omega Calculator made in Munich Germany and made for only 3 years.  A handful of prototypes were made in 1903 and considered the Holy Grail of calculators with prices over $5000.  In 1904 thru 1906 manufacturing / distribution began and offered this high tech computer machine in Europe.  The machine was designed to be a four, 4 function calculator to Add, Subtract, Multiply and Divide.  The Omega was an advanced proposal that used the Locke Adder design as a base with increased functions using some designs found only in Napier Bones and Abacus.  It was designed by Justin Bamberger and he received many prize decorations by “Jugendstil Movement” (German Renaissance Group announcing new advancements in Design).  This machine has some tin indentations with slight box separation at back (could be glued).  Adjustment cursers are small steel nibbles for top left side multiplication and right side quotient (see bottom photos).  Bottom right side has a secret compartment for pencils etc (one decimal screw was found).  Machine appears to be in good operation and display condition 106+ years ago.  The calculator reads Omega Calculating Machine; D.R.G.M with serial number 195509.  Size is 18” x 6” x 2.5” and weighs 5 pounds.  This rare and seldom found museum piece belongs with a serious calculator computer collector.
