This a beautiful 1905 calculator made by Bair-Fulton with directions on use, stylus and portion of original case.  Patent number is 7940069.  Stylus may not be original, but works well.  The machine is called the Arithmetician Calculator No. 6.  The Bair-Fulton Company was located in York, Pennsylvania.  They made three models of Pascal cogged wheel-type calculators.  These machines were exceptional, but were high priced and did NOT have the automatic tens, 10s, carry over.   That is, per directions, operator needed to manually move stylus for a tens carry over.  Later, the common Lightning Calculator became their competition and Lightning machines were mass produced with a much lower price and of course had automatic tens carry over with auto reset.  Although the Bair-Fulton company had superior product of the period, but because of later low priced competition and no tens carry over, soon shut down operations.  The machine has a beautiful Oak wood base.  Machine operates very following directions.  Size is 9.5” x 2.5”.  This will highlight any collection of near 100+ year old calculators.
