This is a very rare and seldom found Baby TIM (Time Is Money) in original Oak wood case. In 1907 Ludwig Spitz started making the TIM machines. They also made also made a larger TIM machine and made only a handful of the smaller or Baby TIM machines. The handcrafted oak wood case with dove tail joints were made for only one year. This TIM has a very low serial number of 0812 with 8 slider setting keys and 12 digit result display. Both TIM machines were made in wood oak case for only one year as in 1908, they replaced wood case with a heavy cast iron with brass accents case. We do not have the key to lock case, but a search for small skeleton key could be made. Size is 18” x 7” x 6” and weighs 15 lbs. Machine is technically in excellent operational condition and in museum display condition. In 1907 Ludwig Spitz & Co. in Berlin began manufacturing this machine using the Thomas de Colmar design for a step drum wheel calculator for Adding, Subtracting, Multiplication and Division. For 100+ years, this rare treasure is in excellent operation and display condition. In our many years in business, this is the first TIM in wood we’ve found. This is truly a museum piece that belongs with a serious collector that appreciates rare computing calculators from 100+ years ago.
