This is a 1901 calculator called the Calcumeter in original box.  It is the seldom found 5 dial machine as more common models were 6, 7 and 8 dials.  Calculator is in excellent working condition with all tens carry over.  It comes in original box with replacement stylus.  Box is rough but has preserved a rare calculator from 100+ years ago.  These were very well made machines of nickel, copper and brass (later copies were made of tin or steel like “Lighting”).  Box is stamped on the end "H.N. MORSE, TRENTON, N.J." Number 56160, and on side of machine "PAT'D DEC. 17 '01".  Top of this machine is stamped “The Calcumeter” (Next Models were stamped “The Standard Desk Calcumeter”.).  There are two-swivel legs in the back to stand machine up at an angle.  Calcumeter measures at 6.50 inches long x 2 inches wide.
